About Me
I am Christian Computer Programmer with a strong passion for God and Technology who enjoys a good laugh. I currently live in in Sheffield, England. I am really a Northerner at heart as I was born in Doncaster and studied Computer Systems Engineering at Sheffield University. I have one sister who lives in Madrid (And one is more than enough). In my spare time I enjoy cycling, reading, programming, playing computing games, spending time with friends.
Beliefs
Christianity
I believe there is a inherent design to all things whether it is visible or not and this is the work of God. In our lives we are really rubbish at being good; we can try but we all have inherent sinfulness which we can't get rid of. We need to be changed and we need to accept we can't do it ourselves. We need Christ to change us so we can be made acceptable to God. We also need to accept God's ruling as part of believing in Christ because we are really rubbish at deciding what's best for us.
Open Source Technology
I believe in the Open Source Ethos - That technology and Knowledge should not be locked and hidden away in some secret vault but should be available to all for the benefit of everyone. By doing this the following are accomplished.
- Knowledge is distributed
- New Technologies can evolve from existing ones.
- Detection and Fixation of Bugs can happen at a faster rate.
- Unforseen enhancements at the time of release can be noticed and made earlier.
